Review by hotel critic
Our stay at A Casa del Tosi was like visiting extended family - warm, welcoming, and authentic. Antonella and Marco were exceptional hosts, providing valuable local tips and ensuring our stay was memorable. Breakfast, featuring Antonella's homemade cakes, was a highlight each morning. The property, nestled in a peaceful area north of Lucca, offered ample space and a charming kitchenette. Our youngest, just under 3 years old, particularly enjoyed interacting with the friendly animals on-site, especially Pluto the dog and the donkeys in the nearby forest - it was a joy to watch him engage with nature.Despite being 14.2 miles from the popular Viareggio Beach, the farm stay's serene atmosphere and authentic Italian charm made up for the distance. We also appreciated being 8.4 miles from the historic Piazza Napoleone, making day trips convenient. The added amenities at the property catered to families, providing a well-rounded experience that kept both adults and kids entertained. The pool was a refreshing retreat after exploring nearby sights, and the opportunity to witness the grape harvest added a unique touch to our stay. Antonella's son, Leonardo, engaged us in delightful conversations about travel and local traditions, enhancing our cultural experience. For families seeking a true Italian farm stay experience, this charming spot is a must-visit.
